Welcome!

…I’ll level with you. I have no idea what I’m doing here. But I’ll figure it out, I promise! I’m planning for this blog to be mostly commentary and reviews on film, literature, and/or television. My reviewing style focuses on reader and fandom response, feminism, and cultural/historical context. I like to splice my academic sense and fandom sensibility.

I also plan to chronicle my own adventures in writing. I’ve been writing fiction for ages and am currently drafting my first novel. I may occasionally stray into politics and social issues, usually in connection with reviews. For now I’m focusing on the reviews, and finding that to be quite enough to start with! I’ve launched this blog with a recap, review, and fandom study series of my beloved X-Files. I am also going to be launching a podcast in the near future with a very dear friend. Details to come!
